The three were smuggling bullets in a lorry, said Numal Mahato, Superintendent of Police, Cachar. Drug smuggling was being done in the secret chamber built in the carrier of the vehicle. On the basis of secret information, after searching the vehicle, three people were arrested and the tablet was recovered from them.
The accused have been identified as Abdul Saeed, Ibazur Rehman and Sameer Alam, all residents of Cachar district

The police officer further said that Abdul Sayeed had brought the bullets from Churachandpur district of neighboring Manipur state. Their aim was to smuggle abroad.Further investigation is on in the matter.
In another incident, police and CRPF in a joint operation intercepted a truck and seized four quintals of ganja, which was kept hidden in a modified secret room in Karbi Anglong district on Sunday. Two accused were also caught.
