The opening session of the South Barpeta District Committee

 



    The opening session of the South Barpeta District Committee of the Assam Char Chapri Sahitya Sabha was held yesterday with a day-long programme. Hundreds of heads and youth of the greater Char area as well as the honourable MLA of Chenga constituency Ashraful Hussain participated in the establishment of The Baria Laikhuta. For the first time in the post-independence era of India, a full-fledged session has been organised at Kholabandha. The session will be held at Kholabandha High School premises. Before India gained independence in 1947, it was said that the information of Char Sapri which has a wide variety of information will be included in the memoirs. In particular, they are trying to respond to those who are saying that they are being said to be a threat to the art and culture and the language of Assam by targeting the people, the people of Assam, the people who are targeting the Muslims. 

There is not a single Bengali language school in the Char area and in the meantime, how the students of char area are getting education and accepting Assamese as the mother language will be revealed in the memorial book, said Fazlur Rahman Sahab, a well-educated member of Char Chapri.
