The NIA FIR clearly mentions that the module of

with Bangladesh-based terrorist organization Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).

AQIS, a branch of the banned terrorist organization Al-Qaeda founded in 2014,

is reportedly active in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Burma and Bangladesh. The

group is accused of trying to wage AQIS jihad to establish an Islamic state in

the country.

According to the NIA FIR, the module of AQIS is aimed at "propagating terror in Indian territory, radicalizing like-minded youth and recruiting like-minded youth to wage war against India. AQIS 'rules' the democratically elected government." Establishing and planning to uproot it.

 Probe has been ordered by the Ministry of Home Affairs at a time when Indian authorities destroyed

 two madrassas in Assam allegedly planning to carry out "jihadi" activities. A madrassa in Assam's 

Barpeta district was destroyed on August 29.

It was claimed that the madrasa was used as a training center by AQIS. The second madrasa in Bongaigaon 

district was demolished on August 31 last. A week ago, a teacher of Bongaigaon madrassa was arrested on suspicion of links to AQIS.

According to news agency ANI, the Ministry of Home Affairs and NIA had received information that a module of Al-Qaeda in the Indian

 Subcontinent (AQIS) was active in various districts of Assam as well as in Goalpara. Subsequently, the NIA started investigation based on

 a case originally registered on August 20 at Matia police station in Goalpara district of Assam. NIA 26 September 2022

The case was re-registered under the charges of sections 120B, 121 and 121A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A case was also registered

 under sections 18, 18B, 19 and 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The Anti-Terrorism Agency- NIA started investigation

 on 23 September following the order received from Counter Terrorism and Counter Radicalization (CTCR) of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
